FRIDAY YOUTH NIGHTS We will start the Youth Nights on Friday January 6th, the time will be 7 pm to 9 pm. The shoot is held EVERY OTHER FRIDAY. The cost will be $5 per child per night. As for age groups we have no set age group essentially if they are coordinated enough to hold and pull back a modest bow they can participate. Generally about 8 is the starting point we have no cutoff. We frequently have moms jumping in because their kids are having all the fun. The Club has basic bows, arrows and arm guards but any a child may use their own equipment.
TUESDAY NIGHT LEAGUE - Information Rules and Regulations- 2012 START TIME: Shooting commences precisely at the stroke of 7:00 p.m. local time, more or less. Open practice permitted prior to shooting. DUES: Initiation fee of $10.00 is charged for non-members: no Initiation fee for members. Shoot fee $8.00 per night is assessed against all shooters. Shooters are responsible for each night’s fee, whether present or not. Double fees will be collected first three nights; no fees collected last three nights. EQUIPMENT: Bows limited to a draw weight of 70 pounds for compound bows and 80 pounds for traditional bows. Also, it is considered bad form to establish a paltry average with your traditional bow and then switch to your ultra-precision, high tech compound. HANDICAP: Handicaps are calculated at 90% of the difference between the shooter’s average and a perfect score (150). Decimals are dropped. AVERAGES: Average of the shooter’s first three sets will be the starting average for the current year. All scores up to and including the prior week, will be included in the shooter’s average going forward. In compiling averages, decimals are dropped. NO SHOWS: A missing shooter will be assigned a score to 80% (decimals dropped) of his current average. No adjustment to the team score is made. A missing shooter will be dropped from the team roster on the night of his third consecutive miss, unless his dues are current. When the shooter is dropped, the partial Team Rule is in effect. Re-instatement to the same team is permitted upon payment of back dues, if the vacancy still exists; otherwise, re-instatement will be done to fill any other existing vacancy. PARTIAL TEAM: A team with less than 4 assigned shooters will use a blind score(s) equal to the total league average, with a handicap calculated accordingly. Such team is obligated to accept the next available shooter that signs up for the league. FORFEITS: A team shooting unopposed, for any reason, will be awarded a win for each set in which those shooting score 90% of their combined averages, or better. Pool scores are not permitted. BOUNCE OUTS: If an arrow strikes what appears to be a scoring part of the target and bounces out, the shooter is allowed another arrow. Striking a non-scoring part does not allow another arrow. SCORING: Scoring of all targets will be 10 – 5 – 0; the twelve ring, if present, will count as ten. For certain targets, an arrow within a scoring circle, but not breaking the animal’s outline, is not counted as a hit. Do not score your own team’s results. Points will be awarded for each win, plus one point for the higher team total. Higher team total for a team involved in a forfeit is 90% of the average of those shooting, times three. Conduct: This is a family facility. Please refrain from out bursts of profanity. Also, club policy prohibits smoking in the club house. ARBITRATION: Should there be any question regarding the scoring of a shot, I, Dennis Sharpe, will be the final arbiter. Based on my eyeglass prescription and questionable judgment, you are well advised to settle your own disputes! And, by the way, did I mention that this is supposed to be a “fun” league?
